The vineyards

This production area is characterized by high average winter temperatures, high number of sunlight hours (Pachino, Pozzallo and Ispica are the sunniest town of Italy), medium soils tending towards loose, sometimes to sandy, with a good amount nutrients, with good characteristics of depth and freshness.

Curto The vineyards are partly trained to tree, over 50 years of age (producing 35-50 tons per hectare), and partly on the back of 15-20 years of age, with a production of 70 quintals per hectare.
In the late 90s the company focused its attention, especially in the wine sector, trying to make the most of the exceptional quality of Nero d’Avola.
