The Farm
|
The Curtos, viniculturers since 1670, have a long history of experience in agriculture.
Their
Farm has specialized in cultivating many products, including: must grapes,
citrus, almonds, olives - from which they produce excellent olive oil,
organic princkly pears, grains, carrots and other vegetables grown in
open fields.
In the last few years, the Farm has concentrated on making wine and optimizing the exceptional quality of its' "Nero d'Avola" vines using the most modern wine - making tecnology (such as must thermoconditioning, soft squeezing, etc).
The majority of the vineyards consist of lowe vines, 40 years old, which produce 35 - 50 "quintals per hectare". There is a smaller quantity of "espalier" vines, 25 years old, which produce 70 "quintals per hectare". |
